Prophethood and last Prophet
Prophethood refers to the belief in a religious tradition that certain individuals were chosen by God to be messengers or prophets who were tasked with conveying divine revelations to the people.
Allah Almighty created humans for a purpose which is to worship Him and lead a moral life based on His will and guidance. He then ‘sends’ these prophets to a specific community to convey His words and will.
Who is the last Prophet and why?
Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is the last of the Prophets and that no prophet will be sent after him) is a foundational belief of Islam.
1st, because Allah Almighty called him Khatimun Nabiyyen, in His book (Quran -Al Ahzab 33:40), which means that he is “the last of all the
prophets.”
As Allah Almighty says:
2nd, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him ) has said:
I am the last Prophet, no Prophet is to come after me.
3rd, Allah has said in the Holy Quran:
This day I have perfected your religion for you and
completed My favour unto you, and have chosen for you as
religion al-Islaam.
(Al-Quran: 5: 3)
It is proved by this that Allah perfected the religion through
the Holy Prophet ( peace be upon him) and there is no need to send more prophets after him.
